Black & White toasts ‘must-have’ gin guide by Murphy

Black & White Publishing, an imprint of Bonnier Books UK is set to publish The Scottish Gin Bible, a must-have guide to gin by drinks expert Sean Murphy.

Alison McBride, publishing director at Black & White Publishing, acquired world rights in all languages for The Scottish Gin Bible directly from the author.

A detailed and illustrated guide to the popular drink, The Scottish Gin Biblefeatures fascinating stories behind the flavours, brands and recipes of 100 Scottish gins. With a cocktail included for every palate and occasion, this bible is the perfect companion for gin lovers across Scotland and for visitors from around the world.

The guide also explores the revival of Scottish gin, fueled in part by the boom in small craft distilleries that have transformed the market. The Scottish Gin Bible gives a unique and informative look into gin producers across Scotland, sharing knowledge of the craft and a refreshing range of new boutique products to experience.

Sean Murphy is a tourism writer for the Daily Record and Scotland Now, along with having previously worked for The Scotsman Food & Drink. He also helps to judge the country’s best gins at the Scottish Gin Awards. His first book, Gin Galore, was published in 2018. The Scottish Gin Bible is his second book.

Alison McBride said: “The Scottish gin market has grown exponentially in recent years, which makes it a perfect time to showcase the amazing flavours and recipes on offer. Sean is an expert of the craft, and we are very excited to be working with him again to bring his extensive knowledge to the page and create this fantastic guide.”

Sean said: “Scotland’s gin scene has been through a lot in the past few years because of the pandemic, and it’s been important to me to help get [the distilleries’] story out there once again. I hope that the book will be the perfect guide and accompaniment to help anyone find their new favourite tipple, rediscover some old classics or simply learn all about the people that make this wonderful spirit.”

The Scottish Gin Bible will be published in April 2022.
