Bonnier Books UK has acquired a ground-breaking book on ageing, written by one of the world’s foremost experts in the field, Professor Rose Anne Kenny. World Rights were acquired by Michelle Signore from Bill Hamilton at A M Heath Literary Agency.

Age Proof  – The New Science of Living a Longer and Healthier Life will be published on the Lagom imprint in January 2022.

Using Professor Kenny’s cutting-edge research, it reveals why and how some people live longer, fitter, healthier and happier lives than others. Age Proof will advise readers on the simple steps they can take – at any point in their lives – to ensure that they age in the best way possible.

Professor Kenny said: ‘We all grow old – but what a lot of people don’t realise is that we control 80% of our ageing biology. I am pleased to be able to bring key learnings from my experience as a clinician and a researcher in the field of ageing into my first commercial book, Age Proof. What makes my book unique is that it is a distillation of my team’s cutting-edge research, which is one of the most comprehensive multidimensional studies worldwide, coupled with over 35 years of clinical experience in ageing medicine. My hope is that readers of all ages will take away a clear understanding of the changes they can implement now to ensure they live the longest, healthiest and happiest life.’

Michelle Signore, Editorial Director for Lagom said: ‘I am thrilled to have an author of Professor Kenny’s calibre on the Lagom list. As well as being an expert in her field, Rose is a natural storyteller. What I love so much about her writing is how she makes scientific theory completely accessible to the reader. Anyone who reads her book will come away equipped with the knowledge that there are clear steps they can take – right now – to ensure they live a long and healthy life. I have already started to put her advice into practice in my own life!’

Publishing on 27 January 2022, Age Proof will be available in hardback, ebook and audio editions.
