Bonnier Books UK has reached an agreement to distribute our audio titles in Spotify’s Audiobooks in Premium program from 10th May 2024.

One of our core values is that ‘every reader matters’, and we are always looking for new ways to broaden the reach of our books, to introduce new audiences to our authors’ voices and perspectives.

Spotify’s Audiobooks in Premium program is available in the UK, US, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and Australia with a model that gives eligible Spotify Premium subscribers access to 15 hours of audiobook content per month.

With more than 239 million subscribers worldwide, Spotify represents a great opportunity to grow the audiobook market, expanding the listener base for our authors’ titles.

We have ensured that the value of our audiobooks is protected in Spotify’s Audiobooks in Premium model. Royalties will be calculated for each audiobook listened to. This agreement does not affect distribution via other retailers and those titles will continue to be available via other audiobook platforms and services, as they have been before.

Over the past five years, we’ve seen significant developments in the online retail and distribution landscape across all formats, and our books are available for sale via many more retailers today than they were when first published, enabling us to reach more customers globally. Spotify’s Audiobooks in Premium program is another positive step forward for authors and publishers, and we look forward to Bonnier Books UK audiobooks being enjoyed by a new generation of audio listeners.
