Last night, the Bonnier Books UK Children’s team presented its highlights for the rest of 2025 in a special showcase at the company’s new headquarters at the HYLO Building in Old Street, London. The event brought together a dynamic blend of innovative voices and established literary stars.
A host of journalists, librarians, booksellers and key trade professionals attended the evening. Helen Wicks, managing director of children’s trade, introduced the Children’s division, team and imprints including its newest addition, the YA imprint Ink Road, spearheaded by Ruth Bennett.
Editors Sophie Hallam (Templar), Russell McLean (Big Picture Press), Ruth Bennett (Piccadilly Press & Ink Road) and Emma Matthewson (Hot Key Books) presented upcoming highlights for each imprint.
The evening featured sneak peek previews including the trailer for the upcoming Amazon Prime adaptation of We Were Liars by E.Lockhart (premiering 18th June) as well as engaging speeches from a host of authors.
Exciting emerging talent Harriet Howe introduced her heart-wrenching picture book debut Tiger’s Last Roar; Nat Harrison, debut author of The Girl Who Raced The World, shared insights into her middle-grade historical adventure, a bold reimagining of famous classic Around the World in 80 Days; and content creator Ova Ceren unveiled her highly-anticipated YA romantasy The Book of Heartbreak, a gorgeous modern fairytale inspired by Turkish folklore.
An array of celebrated authors also took centre stage, including motivational speaker, campaigner and Ambassador to The UK Sepsis Trust Patrick Kane for his SLA award-winning non-fiction book Human 2.0; and the multi-award-winning author Tia Fisher, known for her Carnegie Shadow Medal-winning narrative verse novel, Crossing the Line.
