La Plante made 2020 London Book and Screen Week ambassador

Lynda La Plante has been revealed an ambassador for London Book and Screen Week 2020, reports The Bookseller, highlighting ‘her illustrious career across page, stage and screen.’

La Plante will be joined by author Joe Dunthorne, novelist and scriptwriter Lisa Owens, creator and author Jonathan Lynn, poet and performer Scarlett Sabet, and cookery author Miguel Barclay, among others.

Speaking to The Bookseller, festival organisers said: ‘Heading up the 2020 programme as festival ambassador, queen of crime drama Lynda La Plante will discuss her illustrious career across page, stage and screen.

‘From early performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company, to writing scripts for BAFTA-winning shows including Prime Suspect and Widows, Lynda has also achieved international success as an author of over 30 novels. In this special event La Plante will also offer a preview of her forthcoming book Buried (Zaffre, April 2020) – the first in an exciting new series.’

The seven-day festival will take place at the Groucho Club and the Good Housekeeping Institute in central London from the 6th to the 15th of March 2020.
