Bond joins new music imprint at Bonnier Books UK

Bonnier Books UK has appointed Melissa Bond as senior editor of its soon-to-be-launched music imprint, reporting into publishing director, Pete Selby.

Bond arrives from the National History Museum, where she was in charge of print editorial content, and, prior to that, she was a non-fiction editor at Simon & Schuster, where she worked on broad range of music titles, including Bruce Springsteen’s autobiography, Born to Run.

Selby joined Bonnier Books UK in August last year to spearhead the launch of the new imprint, which will provide a publishing home for unique musical perspectives, with the list set to include memoirs, musical social histories and first-person narratives from contemporary writers, musicians and cultural commentators.

Pete Selby said: ‘It’s a pleasure to welcome an editor with Melissa’s passion, talent and experience to our new imprint and I look forward to her helping define and shape the list in the coming months.’

Bond added: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Bonnier Books UK and to be working with Pete in developing the incredible new list. Music has been a central part of my life since a very young age, so to be managing the editorial remit of such a high-quality music publishing imprint is a dream opportunity, especially with so many exciting and diverse projects already in the pipeline.’

Bond joins the company this week, ahead of the imminent launch of the new imprint.
