Bonnier Books UK today launches its new business and smart-thinking imprint Heligo Books, with the first books set to publish in spring 2022.
An original and inclusive publisher of business books, Heligo Books aspires to rethink the business and smart-thinking market, energising readers and listeners, and delivering fresh approaches for purpose-driven careers and lives lived with impact.
Led by editorial director Rik Ubhi, the imprint will publish a broad range of content from blue-chip business royalty to Gen Z entrepreneurs aimed at curious readers, business leaders and everyone inbetween – targeting audiences and age groups typically underserved by the genre.
The imprint’s name is inspired by a windswept island off the coast of Scandinavia – the birthplace of Bonnier Books – called Heligoland. For centuries Heligoland was a stopping off point for adventurers seeking knowledge and fortune between mainland Europe and Scandinavia – an unassuming little island that became a gateway to a wider world, rich in discovery.
The imprint has already acquired an impressive global roster of thought-leaders and entrepreneurs, including:
Beyond Silicon by Jewel Burks Solomon:
A timely corrective to the toxic tech-bro cult of Silicon Valley individualism, packed with practical advice for atypical entrepreneurs from the first black female founder to sell her business to a Fortune 10 company. Solomon’s debut will publish in 2023.
CIA to CEO by Rupal Patel:
Entrepreneur, keynote speaker and sought-after mentor Patel’s From CIA to CEO distils the unique techniques honed from her years in the CIA that can be used to help anybody find their voice, discover their potential, and thrive.
Connect! by Simon Lancaster:
Connect! will share the renowned speechwriter and bravura public speaker’s secrets to punching up pitches, adding power to presentations, and making instant, indelible connections with anyone, anytime, anywhere.
Additional titles for 2022 include Deliver What You Promise from the former COO of LEGO Bali Padda, which promises to share the story of how he revitalised the iconic brand and his insights into the fundamental building blocks of business; and Unstuck by international bestseller Adam Alter – moving to Bonnier Books UK from Penguin Random House to unveil his revelatory guide to freeing one’s mind and channelling creativity.
Rik Ubhi, Editorial Director, Heligo Books said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our new business and smart-thinking imprint, Heligo Books, with a brilliant blend of internationally-bestselling authors, unique up-and-coming thinkers, expert voices and bona-fide business titans. Their books have exactly the sort of energy, inspiration and captivating writing that we think will make a mark in the space and that we hope will resonate with the trade and readers alike. We aim to reach new audiences and discover fresh talent – and we can’t wait to start publishing next spring.
The Heligo Books brand and logo was designed by Tom Leach, creative director at Evoke.
