Eriu, the Dublin-based imprint of Bonnier Books UK, will publish My Autobiography by champion Irish jockey, Davy Russell.
Deirdre Nolan, publishing director at Eriu, acquired World All Language rights directly from the author.
Davy Russell is a retired National Hunt jockey. He was Irish jump racing Champion Jockey three times, and won the Grand National (twice), the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Grand Steeple-chase de Paris. Courting injuries and success before finally retiring, his story will bring it all to the fore. This is his first book, written in collaboration with Donn McClean, a horse-racing journalist and bestselling author.
Davy Russell said: ‘It’s great to get the opportunity through Eriu to tell all about my wonderful experiences that I have had through my career, the ups and the downs.’
Deirdre Nolan said: ‘I’ve followed Davy’s career with great admiration for years, and more than any other jockey he seems like the kind of person you want to go for a great pint with, full of craic and mischief but also utterly brilliant on a horse, as his stellar career proves. This book will be a rollicking read.’
My Autobiography by Davy Russell will be published in hardback and eBook on 3rd October 2024.
