Hot Key Books, part of Bonnier Zaffre, has acquired Women in Battle, a graphic novel spanning 150 of feminist history and celebrating the fight for women’s rights all over the world.
Felicity Johnston, Commissioning Editor, Bonnier Zaffre, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Anette Garpestad at Cappelen Damm Agency in Norway.
Women in Battle includes topics such as the suffragette movement, female world leaders, abortion and contraception, gay marriage and #MeToo.
It also contains a foreword by Jude Kelly, founder of the Women of the World festival, who says: “This book tells the stories of women we should all know . . . It is urgent that we all learn more about the history of feminism. It is the journey of our mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers to where we are today. We stand on their shoulders.”

Marta Breen (author) and Jenny Jordahl (illustrator) have collaborated on a number of previous books including the prize-winning The F word: 155 reasons to be a feminist and the bestselling 60 Women you should have known.
Women in Battle is set to publish in October 2018.
