The Tattooist of Auschwitz, published in the UK by Zaffre, is a heartbreaking story of the very best of humanity in the very worst of circumstances. In 1942, Lale Sokolov arrived in Auschwitz-Birkenau. He was given the job of tattooing the prisoners marked for survival – scratching numbers into his fellow victims’ arms in indelible ink to create what would become one of the most potent symbols of the Holocaust.
A gripping, unputdownable and packed with twists and turns from the first page to the very last, Lies is a stunning psychological thriller will make you question: can we ever really trust the ones we love.
