Templar illustration prize announces 2019 longlist
Templar is thrilled to announce the longlist for the second annual Templar Illustration Prize, recognising the work of nine exceptionally talented illustrators.
The 2019 prize invited applicants to submit book materials — including cover, storyboard and spread designs — to the theme of ‘Where I Come From’, aimed at pre-school children up to 12 years. This year’s judging panel included Templar illustrators Jonny Duddle, Lara Hawthorne, Lucia Gaggiotti and Frann Preston-Gannon.

Jane Harris, MD of Children’s Trade at Bonnier Books UK, said: “We would like to thank all of the illustrators for submitting their fantastic work. The quality of the submissions is incredibly high and it has been a tough process to reach the longlist.”
The winning entry will be announced in September 2019 and will receive £750 as well as being considered for publication by Templar.
