In practice, the flexible working policy will see all Bonnier Books UK employees working up to three days a week from home, once the offices do reopen in full for all employees.
‘This is an important next step as we strive to build a workplace culture where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and have their voice heard, whatever their background or circumstances.’
Perminder Mann, CEO, Bonnier Books UK
At present all office-based employees continue to work primarily from home, aside from a small number of business-critical processes that cannot be performed effectively remotely. Any employees returning to the Bonnier Books UK office locations do so on a strictly voluntary basis.
Perminder Mann, CEO, said: ‘The success of our overnight switch to home working for all office staff back in March, has given us much pause for thought. We know that we can do great work from home – the past six months have proved that. We also know that our teams and culture thrive with contact and so our offices will always play an important role in our business.
‘Flexible working is a broad term and we don’t intend to interpret this in a ‘one size fits all’ model. We are a complex business, spanning multiple locations around the UK. However, the underlying principle is that all our office staff at Bonnier Books UK will be empowered to do their best work in the way that works most effectively for them and their team.
‘This is an important next step for Bonnier Books UK, as we strive to build a workplace culture where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and have their voice heard, whatever their background or circumstances.’
Bonnier Books UK’s office workforce has been working remotely since March 2020. There is currently no set date for a full return to the office. For more information on Bonnier Books UK’s COVID-19 health and safety policies, click here.
