Mann and Parkin recognised in 2019 Bookseller 150

Bonnier Books UK CEO Perminder Mann and Managing Director of Adult Trade Kate Parkin have been listed in the 2019 Bookseller 150 – an annual list of the 150 most influential people in UK publishing.

2019 marked the first year Parkin has been recognised in the list, after just over a year in her newly created role in which she oversees seven adult imprints. The Bookseller recognised Parkin’s work building and refining the senior adult trade team. 2019 saw Elise Burns move from Bloomsbury to Bonnier Books UK as Trade Sales and Export Director, and promotions for Matthew Phillips (publisher for Blink and John Blake) and Margaret Stead (publisher for Zaffre and Manilla Press).

For Mann, the Bookseller referenced Bonnier Books UK’s ‘impressive print sales’, putting the company well ‘on course to profitability’, and the upcoming launch of literary imprint Manilla Press, alongside ‘standout titles’ such as Heather Morris’ The Tattooist of Auschwitz and its sequel Cilka’s Journey.

First published in 2009 as The Bookseller 100, the list is made up of publishers, retailers, authors, members of the media and more who have made a considerable impact on the UK publishing industry.
