Richard Charkin and Emilie Marneur join Bonnier Books UK board

Bonnier Books UK today announces the appointment of two new non-executive directors.

Richard Charkin brings a wealth of experience after holding a multitude of executive positions across the industry, including as the former chief executive of Reed International Books and Macmillan Publishers Limited.

Emilie Marneur has a successful track record in digital publishing, content acquisition and development.  She recently left Amazon after 15 years, during which she helped launch and grow Audible and Amazon Publishing. Emilie is now at Fable, a digital start-up.

Charkin and Marneur join the board amid a period of sustained growth and business transformation for Bonnier Books UK.

Richard Charkin, said: ‘To take on a new role in the middle of our worst ever health crisis, and at the age of 71, is both challenging and enormously exciting. I’ve admired the Bonnier Group for many years in many contexts and am delighted to be joining this family business.’

Emilie Marneur, said: ’I am thrilled to be joining such an illustrious company and leadership group. Charkin and Marneur join the Bonnier Books UK board following the departure of Magnus Janson and Eva Norén earlier in the year.
