Embla Books, the digital-first imprint of Bonnier Books UK, has acquired two seasonal women’s fiction titles from bestselling author, Lucy Coleman. Editorial Director, Hannah Smith acquired World English Language rights from Sara Keane at the Keane Kataria Literary Agency.
Lucy Coleman is the bestselling author of books such as Snowflakes over Holly Cove and Summer in Provence, her titles often feature in the Amazon top 100.
Set in Positano, the story will follow Marci James as she heads off to the Italian coast to pack up her godfather’s antiques shop and have the beach break she deserves. Whilst there she meets the enigmatic Nicolo Romano, and with his help, she might just rediscover who she is, and uncover a family secret no-one saw coming.
The first book in the new deal will publish in eBook and audio in spring 2022, followed by a mass-market paperback.
Smith said, “To have Lucy Coleman on our list here at Embla is an absolute delight; not only does Lucy write beautiful settings, that immediately whisk you away to wonderful locations, but she also creates incredible characters, full of warmth and emotion, who immediately pull you into their story. It is an honour to be re-united with Lucy, and be a part of this next step in her career. We can’t wait to get started reaching new readers, and introduce new readers around the globe to Lucy Coleman.”
Coleman said, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this exciting new venture with Embla, and to be working with Hannah Smith as my editor again. I will be taking my readers off to one of my all-time favourite destinations in Italy, and then to spend Christmas in Scotland. We’re going to have a lot of fun in the process and that’s what life is all about!”
The second book under contract, set in the Scottish Highlands, will publish in September 2022.
