Flora Willis joins Black & White Publishing Group, Bonnier Books UK’s latest publishing division, to head up its marketing team.
Willis was at Profile for 10 years and brings a wealth of experience working across both fiction and non-fiction. She was responsible for delivering high profile campaigns for Mary Beard’s Women & Power, Torrey Peters’ Detransition, Baby, Janice Hallett’s crime novels and Oliver Bullough’s Moneyland and Butler to the World, and has won multiple Book Marketing Society awards. She also played an integral role in the launch of Viper Books, which was named Imprint of the Year at the British Book Awards in 2022.
Rob Power, recently promoted to trade marketing director, said: ‘We’re delighted to have Flora join our team. She’s a highly skilled marketer and has demonstrated time and time again her ability to deliver bold high-impact campaigns. Her work is bursting with creativity and a deep understanding of non-fiction readers, and I can’t wait to see what Flora brings to Black & White’s burgeoning list.’
Willis said: ‘I’m delighted to be joining Bonnier’s Black & White division. Its breadth of publishing is impressive – from music to smart thinking – and I can’t wait to support the growth of the newly launched imprints and work with the publishing team to launch bestsellers. To borrow from Ithaka’s tagline, a journey of adventure and discovery awaits – and a world of exciting new books.’
Willis will be working across all imprints within the Black & White Publishing group: from lifestyle non-fiction to commercial and literary fiction imprints based in London and Edinburgh; Dublin-based Irish imprint Eriu; music imprint Nine Eight; business and smart- thinking imprint Heligo Books; and narrative non-fiction imprint Ithaka Press.
